Looking back it seems Lorenzos first World Championship was never in doubt, but, as this review shows in dramatic HD detail, he had to battle to claim the crown. Fiat Yamaha teammate Valentino Rossi piled on the pressure, despite suffering his worst injury ever, and Dani Pedrosas charge on the Repsol Honda meant Lorenzo could never relax.

As Lorenzo raced to the title, there was an intense fight for second. Ducatis Casey Stoner joined the battle royal with a stunning series of race wins, ensuring his challenge to Rossi and Pedrosa was maintained to the season finale in Valencia.

Tragically, Japanese star Shoya Tomizawa, winner of the very first Moto2 race, lost his life during 2010. The sport honoured a fine rider in the best way with an outstanding season of racing.

The struggle for the 125cc World Championship went right down to the wire, with Marc Marquez on his Derbi securing the title by a narrow margin from the hard-charging Nicolas Terol and Pol Espargaro. Britains Bradley Smith also had an outstanding season, snatching victory at the final race.
