Samsung Galaxy S2 US Release on Sprint

Pakar Iklan - Samsung Galaxy S2 US Release on Sprint : Earlier today we gave news of a price and plans roundup for the Samsung Galaxy S2 (S II) Android smartphone, once again noting that there had still been no U.S release. We know how many of our U.S. readers are eager to get their hands on the Galaxy S2 and we have news of a rumor of a U.S. release on Sprint. The Galaxy S2 for Sprint has been retitled the Within, and is due for release in July.

Long ago when we first spoke of a U.S. release for the Galaxy S2 the indications were that AT&T would be the first carrier to get this phone of the moment in the States, and although that’s still possible, at least we have some further news of release. We also previously gave you the names for the Galaxy S2 on various U.S. carriers and if you want to find out more you may find our Galaxy S2 review roundup helpful, or alternatively we also gave details of how to get an unlocked Galaxy S2 for the U.S.

This impressive handset has a 1.2GHz dual-core processor and a big plus point in reviews was its excellent 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus display. Apart from some reports of a screen issue there has been very little negative press about the Galaxy S2 and an awful lot of positive press. Over on Android Spin, Bryce Walter brings us the news of the Galaxy Within release on Sprint from an “anonymous Sprint inside source,” who confirmed that it would see a release on Sprint in late July. Besides that no precise date was given but apparently a rep has tipped a price of around $350, that’s before a mail-in rebate.

Meanwhile Raphael Labuguen of Pop Herald adds a little more to this release rumor on Sprint by saying that the changes for the Sprint version of the Galaxy S2, the Within, will be CDMA technology and also some Sprint apps as an addition. Labuguen also points out that this means the HTC Sensation 4G on T-Mobile looks likely to have at least a month on sale with no Galaxy S2 competition, that’s some headstart.

Are you waiting for the Galaxy S2 to be launched in the U.S.? Maybe you’re a Sprint customer who could be getting this handset first? Let us know your thoughts by sending us your comments.

Toshiba Tecra R850-S8530, Prices, Specs Features Performance

Pakar Iklan - Toshiba Tecra R850-S8530, Prices, Specs Features Performance : The Tecra R850 comes dressed in business black. It features a plastic chassis, but instead of using an ordinary ABS plastic enclosure, Toshiba developed a high-resin plastic for the case, which it calls a “fiberglass reinforced chassis,” that is thin and durable. On many plastic laptops, particularly larger models like this one, where there are large expanses of plastic, worrisome flex is often felt on the lid and keyboard deck. But the Tecra R850’s case feels very rigid. It’s also textured in a corduroy pattern on the lid and wrist rest, giving the laptop a unique yet still boardroom-friendly look.

Features Toshiba Tecra R850-S8530

The Toshiba Tecra R850-S8530
is based on a chip from Intel’s second-generation (Sandy Bridge) Core processors, the 2.5GHz Core i5-2520M. Other core specs include 4GB of 1333MHz DDR3 memory and a 320GB hard drive, standard fare for a business laptop. Breaking from the basic business mold are the Tecra R850’s graphics; instead of integrated Intel graphics, the laptop features a low-end discrete graphics card, the AMD Radeon HD 6450, which brings along 1GB of dedicated video memory.

As a Toshiba business laptop, the Tecra R850 includes the company’s EasyGuard technology to help you stay protected, secure, and connected. Protection comes in the form of a spill-resistant keyboard and shock absorbers on the hard drive and display to protect those components against drops. The hard drive also features 3D sensors that can sense a rapid increase in speed and park the drive heads before impact to keep them from scratching the platter. Security features include TPM encryption and the aforementioned fingerprint reader. Connectivity is aided by the placement of the Wi-Fi antenna; Toshiba incorporates two antenna on the top of the display to increase signal strength.

The laptop also features a docking connector on the bottom, making it easy to snap the Tecra R850 into a docking station for those days when you’re not on the road but in the office. The docking station and power adapter are the same across all Tecra R840 and R850 models as well as Portégé R830 models, making it easy for large organizations to share port replicators and power cords across the various Toshiba laptops it has deployed.

Performance Toshiba Tecra R850-S8530
The Toshiba Tecra R850-S8530’s Core i5-2520M CPU is clocked at 2.5GHz, but it can scale up to 3.2GHz using Intel’s Turbo Boost feature. It also features Intel’s Hyper-Threading technology, which allows the two cores to function as four virtual cores. In labs testing, the Tecra R850-S8530 acquitted itself quite well. It scored 7,705 on PCMark Vantage, which is a good measure of a system’s overall performance. The Core i7–based HP EliteBook 8560p topped the Tecra R850 with a score of 8,487 on the same test, but the EliteBook also costs more at $1,499.

Just for your reference, the EliteBook is a workstation, so we expect especially good performance out of it. We’re choosing it for comparison because it’s the only business notebook with a Sandy Bridge processor we’ve tested, since Sandy Bridge is still relatively new. So we don’t expect the Tecra to surpass the EliteBook in performance; in fact, overall, it performs exactly as it should for its processor and price. If you’d like another point of comparison, you can read our review of the $969 Dell XPS 15, which also uses a second-generation Core i5 processor, albeit at a slower clock speed of 2.3GHz.

On Cinebench 10, which isolates the CPU while taxing all of its cores, the Tecra R850-S8530 topped the 10,000 mark with a score of 10,668. That’s less than 500 points below the HP EliteBook 8560p’s score of 11,158 and more than 1,000 points above the Dell XPS 15’s score of 9,223.

The Tecra R850-S8530 did very on our two real-world media-encoding tests—iTunes in particular. On our Windows Media Encoder test, it converted a standard 3-minute-and-15-second video clip to DVD-quality format in 3 minutes 14 seconds, which was just 31 seconds slower than the HP EliteBook 8560p. On our iTunes conversion test, the Tecra R850-S8530 took 2 minutes 19 seconds to convert 11 standard MP3 files to AAC format, which was only 8 seconds slower than the EliteBook 8560p. By comparison, the XPS 15 completed these tests in 3:53 and 3:05, respectively.

The Tecra R850-S8530 features a 1GB AMD Radeon HD 6450 graphics processor, which allows for a smidge of gaming and, more importantly for its target audience, a graphics boost for creative business tasks. Also, for serious multi-taskers, the Radeon HD 6450 supports up to four displays (the laptop's display plus three others through a port replicator).

To put this GPU to the test, we use 3DMark06, a synthetic DirectX 9 gaming benchmark, the Tecra R850-S8530’s score of 4,251 at its native resolution only slightly trailed the 4,283 that the EliteBook 8560p posted, though the EliteBook’s resolution of 1,600x900 is higher than the Tecra R850’s resolution of 1,366x768. For that reason, we always run this test at 1,024x768, too, and here the difference was more pronounced, with the Tecra earning 4,748 and the EliteBook earning 5,500. The EliteBook uses a higher-end AMD Radeon HD 6470M with 1GB of video memory.

We ran two 3D games, and at its native resolution, the Tecra R850-S8530 managed only 8.35 frames per second (fps) on Just Cause 2 and 18fps on Company of Heroes, an older game. When we lowered the resolution to 1,024x768 and turned off anti-aliasing, it rose to a playable 28.3fps with Company of Heroes. Stick to older games at lower resolutions with image settings dialed down, and the Tecra R850-S8530 will provide a gaming outlet for when the workday is through.

Using a standard six-cell battery, the Tecra R850-S8530 ran for an impressive 4 hours 34 minutes on our demanding DVD battery-rundown test, in which we play a DVD repeatedly until the battery dies. That outlasted the respectable 3:54 that the HP EliteBook 8560p scored on the test as well as the 3:38 from the Dell XPS 15.

Specs Toshiba Tecra R850-S8530

New Epson Stylus SX425W multifunction printer scanner

Pakar Iklan - New Epson Stylus SX425W multifunction printer-scanner, Epson Stylus SX425W prices : We looked at Epson's SX525WD printer-scanner recently (see sidebar), and now it's the turn of the cheaper SX425W. Both can print, scan and copy, and connect to a computer over USB or a wireless network.

But the D in the earlier model's name indicates duplex or double-sided printing, which this cannot do. Otherwise it's slower and quality isn't as high: the SX425W prints fewer droplets of ink per square inch than the Epson Stylus SX425W .

It has Epson's standard rear-feeding paper tray holding, in theory, 120 sheets of plain paper, but we found that any more than 40 sheets caused it to confusingly display ‘Paper out. Load paper' on its screen.

Paper feeds out at the front and as with the 525 there's no separate input tray for photo paper. Both input and output trays telescope out so they can be folded away to save space when the printer isn't in use but can be unfolded to catch printed sheets.

The four ink cartridges slot in by lifting the whole scanner section, but it doesn't angle up very far, so we had to lean in uncomfortably to fit them. The screen was small but useful and colourful, with simple buttons around it for various functions. A single memory card slot takes SD, XD and Memory Stick Pro cards for direct printing of photos without a computer.

Copies came out well with good contrast between light and dark, and a colour A4 page took just under a minute. Scans were likewise impressive, with basic but decent scanning software supplied. If you have a photo-editing or OCR program installed you can scan straight to that instead.

Text was quick to print in draft mode, which was faint but usable for proof-reading: it produced the first page in under nine seconds, working out at 13 pages per minute (ppm) overall. In the ‘best' text mode it took 12 seconds for the first page and managed 5ppm.

In this mode there was a little ink bleed, but text looked respectable. A colour A4 photo at ‘best photo' quality took a sluggish nine minutes and 16 seconds and looked OK but not up to the standards of most £100 printers.

We also found that when we had a stack of paper in the input holder, even the slightest misalignment (if they weren't perfectly straight in the tray) would cause the printer to stop and protest about a paper jam. Correcting this entailed simply pulling the sheets undamaged out of the top of the tray but it was annoying.

In all, this cheap printer-scanner does the job, but between the poor paper handling, slow photo prints and relatively poor photo print quality, we'd recommend the more expensive SX525WD instead.

Sony Details Free PS3, PSP Games

Pakar Iklan - Sony Details Free PS3, PSP Games : Sony has revealed which games it will give away in its “Welcome Back” package as compensation for the last four weeks of PlayStation Network downtime.

Some elements of the service, including streaming media and online gameplay, were restored this weekend, while the PlayStation Store is due to open once again for business toward the end of May. When those digital doors reopen, gamers on PlayStation 3 and PSP will get to pick a handful of titles to download and keep.

On PS3, there’s patchwork creation station LittleBigPlanet, open-world superhero game inFamous, futuristic antigravity racer Wipeout HD and its Fury expansion pack, mini-adventure Ratchet and Clank: Quest for Booty and zombie blaster Dead Nation.

You’ll get to download two of these for free from the PlayStation Store, unless you’re in Germany, where inFamous and Dead Nation are replaced with Super Stardust HD and Hustle Kings.

For handheld console PSP, your selection is a little more limited. The four-game selection offers LittleBigPlanet, racetrack-builder ModNation Racers, cops-and-robbers sim Pursuit Force and top-down shooter Killzone Liberation.

Again, you’ll get to pick two games you fancy and, again, Germany’s stringent rating rules mean gamers in that country don’t get the violent titles (Pursuit Force and Killzone are dropped in favor of Everybody’s Golf 2 and Buzz Junior Jungle Party).

The firm will also give gamers 30 free days of its PlayStation Plus membership, and 60 free days to existing subscribers, which gives you bonus features like free and discounted games, automatic downloads and cloud storage for save files.

Existing Music Unlimited subscribers will be given 30 days’ free subscription, and there will be some gratis virtual doodads in PlayStation Home.

To account for the missed PlayStation Store updates — gamers missed out on three regularly scheduled content dumps — Sony will restock the shop “multiple times” per week to get everyone caught up.

By then, the entire service will be back to business as usual. Except in Japan, where the country’s government is blocking the service’s relaunch until Sony can prove it has significantly stepped-up the network’s security.

What do you think? Has Sony done enough to compensate you for lost Call of Duty hours, or are you disappointed with the offering? Generosity, good PR or damage control? Please let us know your views in the comments below.

Samsung Galaxy S III 2012

Pakar Iklan - Samsung Galaxy S III 2012 : Samsung has confirmed that it is already working on a Samsung Galaxy S III for 2012 as well as working on a 4G version of the company’s Tab tablet for later in 2011.

J.K. Shin, president of Samsung's mobile communications division, has told Dow Jones Newswires in an exclusive interview that “Samsung may launch a third version of its Galaxy S smartphone in the first half of next year after launching a second-generation version called Galaxy S II last month.”

Already selling over 1.3million handsets in the first month, the Samsung Galaxy S II is likely to become of one the phones of the year, and continues the company’s success of the first Samsung Galaxy S smartphone launched last year.

It’s no surprise then that Samsung will want the “run” to continue, however this is the first time the company has officially gone on record to state that a new handset will be made, heck the rumours of such a device haven’t even started yet.

But it’s not just a remake of it’s flagship device that Samsung is teasing us with, but the promise of a 4G version of it’s Samsung Galaxy Tab (that’s the 7-inch model) later this year:

"The race for 4G (fourth-generation) has already started," J.K. Shin said in the same Dow Jones Newswires interview. "4G transition is inevitable particularly for tablets because it requires faster download speeds than smartphones to handle bigger volume content."

According to Dow Jones, the new tablet will be an evolution of and an enhanced version of its Galaxy Tab models, Shin said, without providing further details.

Samsung's Origen ARM Cortex A9 board

Pakar Iklan Samsung's Origen ARM Cortex A9 board : LINUX DEVELOPER Linaro has announced that it will provide development tools for Samsung's Origen dual-core Cortex A9 reference board.

Samsung's Origen reference board sports a dual-core 1GHz Samsung Exynos 4210 system-on-chip (SoC) processor based on ARM's Cortex A9 design. It delivers graphics processing via a Mali-400 core and the chip is mated to 1GB of DDR3 RAM. The board is set to retail for less than $200 (£120) and become the Samsung reference design for developers who want to get in on dual-core ARM action.

Stephen Doel, COO of Linaro told The INQUIRER that the time is right for low-cost ARM Cortex A9 reference boards to arrive and that it is still too early for boards with chips based on ARM's Cortex A15 to appear. Doel added that he expects the Samsung's Origen board "to be the default development board".

Aside from Samsung's Exynos 4210 SoC package and 1GB of DDR3, the Origen board features a WiFi and Bluetooth module, a camera interface, an MMC/SD card reader, serial and USB host connections, an HDMI output, standard 3.5mm audio jacks and an LCD interface. There is also, of course, the mandatory JTAG interface for testing and debugging.

Although Samsung's Origen board might not appear in devices itself, the combination of components that make it up is expected to tip up in smartphones, tablets and 'connected screens' - display devices that need some computing capability.

Linaro has said that it will provide development tools for Samsung's Origen board to support Linux kernel development, the Android mobile operating system and Canonical's Ubuntu Linux distribution from the third quarter of 2011. µ

Maingear announces 3D laptop with 4.8GHz processor

Pakar Iklan - Maingear announces 3D laptop with 4.8GHz processor : Click here to find out more! Maingear this week announced a 3D gaming laptop with an overclocked 4.8GHz processor, in a bid to gain the extreme laptop performance crown from rivals.

The overclocked processor in the EX-L 17 3D laptop is Intel's latest quad-core Core i7-2920XM Extreme Edition processor. It ordinarily runs at 2.5GHz, but can clock up to 3.5GHz under certain conditions, for example, when another core is idle.

The chip, which is based on Intel's latest Sandy Bridge microarchitecture, has 8MB of cache and draws up to 55 watts of power.

The laptop has a 17.3-inch screen, and includes Nvidia's GeForce GTX485M graphics card for 3D gaming. The graphics card is compatible with Microsoft's DirectX 11 graphics technology, which could bring a more realistic gaming experience to Windows 7 laptops.

Kurang Cocok Untuk Harian

BikeRacing NL | <b>MotoGP</b>: Dani Pedrosa I'll be in the form for the race <b>...</b>

With the victory at Estoril dani pedrosa has withdrawn a weight lifted no longer struggle with physical problems had forced to run on the defensive between Qatar and Jerez. Found the condition while jumping a half-day of test post-GP to Estoril Pedrosa turn with confidence to the MotoGP weekend event next to le Mans, where it will try to confirm these sentiments with a convincing result in etSi race possible, address the direction of Jorge Lorenzo only 4 punticini...

"It was the first week after a long period in which I was calm and confident, especially after the race took place at the Portugal," said Dani Pedrosa. "After the operation, was a great relief to feel well on the bike and that makes me see things differently." After the race and test Monday, I was very tired and painful. I spent three days in complete rest to relax muscles, returning to physiotherapy and a light workout with trainer.

I am pleased to return to the query. Le Mans will, as always, challenging and difficult. I've always done well on this track, I have a good feeling, but I have not won in MotoGP, which I would like to many. Similar to Estoril, Bugatti is a "stop and go" where in the past, Yamaha has always been very powerful.

We must make the best use of testing sessions to prepare the bike well and find a good stability, traction and acceleration. No, not only that, we must be prepared for any condition of the track given the uncertainty of weather conditions. It will be important to maintain the concentration, the race will be long and it is crucial to not step errors. »

The choice of tires for the France is very clear: compounds, soft and medium-sized two wheels, with the asymmetric rear tire behind. It is the first time that Bridgestone will provide this type of tyre, which was originally intended for Motegi, but postponement of the Grand Prize of the Japan to the month of October, became Le Mans the scenario for its creation. Bridgestone this new tyre its excellent grip, your best highlights the warming and gives better results for the conditions of le Mans, where it is assumed a colder temperature.

"Le Mans is a circuit which slides a lot, and we are at an early date, the temperature is low, so I need a composed of soft tires provide grip and this is the reason why we will use the new back asymmetric pneumatic soft of France.". We develop a mild extra compound we use late last year in Valencia and the Portugal, but during the winter, we have incorporated a completely new asymmetric soft compound. "Is designed to operate when conditions are cooler and obtain more rapid warming, offering the best pilots of sensations in the early stages of use", says Hirohide Hamashima, Deputy Director of the Department of development of the Division of the tyres.

Hamashima underlined by characteristics of the circuit, "this is the type of brake and speed, except for the final part which is high speed, inclinations are relatively low, but it is crucial good stability in braking, especially in curves 3 and 9" which is reached after two straight. "The circuit has an asymmetric pattern, so the tire requires a right more hard, hence the choice by the asymmetric rubber rear", he explains.

VaFORTINO - all about <b>MotoGp</b> Vale and the movement: history and the <b>...</b>

BikeRacing NL | <b>MotoGP</b>: Marco Simoncelli "I want a good result <b>...</b>".

In the two towers, Marco simoncelli show their full potential, without, however, to reap the fruits of sown. Fallen in Jerez, when he was on the head with a good margin, out of the game after four curves at Estoril after having tested by the protagonist. No doubt, "Sic" should confirm these performance next weekend at le Mans this attempt to follow with a high finish in the race.

"Testing Estoril, played the day after the race, I've served on forget in part the result of Sunday and go to le Mans with an another mind," explains Marco Simoncelli. Today I am loading and willing to buy the Portuguese race. The Monday test was useful and important to this fourth round of the Championship of the world. I am convinced more and more he can stay with the best and centarre a list of result and will give the maximum to do.

Certainly, I will try not to repeat the error with cold tires, after only four curves, because the only good thing was to see beautiful pictures of my screwing published in air and get perhaps, by the photographers who took the photodonjona magnification.

Scherzi a parte le mans, I want to do even if I do not like the French track where I won, 250 in 2009 and I came second in 2008 "."

<b>MotoGP</b> Info 2011: Lorenzo paves the way for le Mans more Moto2 and <b>...</b>

.

Moto GP:

Three rounds into the 2011 season and the MotoGP World Championship has already delivered a wealth of thrilling on-track action, as well as a dose of intense competitive rivalry off it which has added spice to what is already shaping up to be a fantastic title battle.

The drama will continue this weekend at Le Mans where reigning World Champion Jorge Lorenzo heads into the Monster Energy Grand Prix de France holding a slender four-point advantage over Dani Pedrosa at the top of the standings, after three rounds. Yamaha Factory Racing rider Lorenzo is preparing for his 150th GP start this weekend, which would make him the youngest rider ever to reach the milestone (taking the record off Pedrosa), and he won last year’s race at Le Mans. Lorenzo knows that his Repsol Honda rival is feeling fit and sharp after taking his first win of 2011 at the previous round in Portugal however, and the pair are now level on 36 career GP wins each.

Casey Stoner stands 20 points adrift of his Repsol Honda team-mate after three races and will bid to take what would only be his second ever podium finish at Le Mans across all classes this weekend. The Australian is closely trailed by Valentino Rossi, who has won at Le Mans three times in the premier class (seven podium finishes in total), and the Italian will be pushing for his first Ducati podium at a circuit at which the factory has never before won a MotoGP race.Rossi’s Ducati team-mate Nicky Hayden and Repsol Honda’s Andrea Dovizioso are level on points and finished fourth and third respectively in last year’s Le Mans race, and Hiroshi Aoyama has enjoyed a good start to the season with the San Carlo Honda Gresini team, something he will aim to maintain in France.

The Japanese rider’s team-mate Marco Simoncelli’s current points haul belies the Italian’s form so far this season. After placing fifth in Qatar he has crashed out of the last two races; at Jerez whilst leading and at Estoril after displaying a pace throughout the weekend which had indicated that an elusive first premier class podium was more than attainable.

British rookie Cal Crutchlow’s debut season continued on an upward curve in Portugal and the Monster Yamaha Tech 3 rider will make his racing debut at Le Mans. Team-mate Colin Edwards has twice stood on the podium at the track and the pair will be confident of following up an impressive previous round in Portugal at their team’s home GP.

Héctor Barberá (Mapfre Aspar) crashed out of a premier class race for the first time in his career in Portugal and will be determined to make amends in France, as will rookie Karel Abraham (Cardion AB Motoracing), and Toni Elías (LCR Honda) has twice won at Le Mans (once in 250s and last year in Moto2).

Ben Spies’ (Yamaha Factory Racing) season has not started as the American would have expected after two crashes in the last two races, and his target will be a points-scoring finish at a circuit at which he did not finish last year’s race. Pramac Racing duo Loris Capirossi and Randy de Puniet will try to follow up their Portugal results with another encouraging step forward, whilst Álvaro Bautista has had further time to recover following his incredible comeback from injury at Estoril.

Moto2:

The Moto2 show arrives at Le Mans with German rider Stefan Bradl (Viessmann Kiefer Racing) the form man in the category. Bradl has started each of the opening three rounds of the 2011 season from pole position and has taken two victories (Qatar and in the previous round at Estoril), and currently leads the Championship standings by 13 points ahead of Andrea Iannone.

The Italian surrendered the Championship lead to Bradl in Portugal when he slid out of the group fighting for victory in the race with three laps to go, and will aim to recover lost ground at Le Mans. It is a circuit at which Iannone has a best-ever finish of fourth, which came in last year’s Moto2 race.

Simone Corsi (Ioda Racing Project) has had a consistent start to the season and scored a podium result at Le Mans last year in the Moto2 race, and Thomas Lüthi (Interwetten Paddock Moto2) returns to the scene of his last-ever GP victory (in the 125s in 2006) determined to take his first Moto2 win having crashed out of the Portugal race when in the leading group.

Julián Simón took his first podium of the year in Portugal and was second in last year’s Moto2 race at Le Mans, and the Mapfre Aspar rider is also seeking a maiden Moto2 win, whilst Yuki Takahashi also stood on the rostrum for the first time this year at Estoril and goes back to the site where he won his first ever GP race in 2006 in the 250cc class.

Bradley Smith (Tech 3) and Scott Redding (Marc VDS Racing) experienced difficult races in Portugal and will be eager to put the third round behind them with strong results in France. The latter of the two is still in search of his first Championship points of the season, as is reigning 125cc World Champion Marc Márquez (Team CatalunyaCaixa Repsol). Italian rider Claudio Corti (Italtrans) will undergo a medical check on Thursday to asses his fitness after suffering a shoulder injury in Portugal.

Two wildcard riders will also participate this weekend, with Australian Alex Cudlin riding a Moriwaki for the QMMF Racing Team and South African Steven Odendaal on a Suter and riding under the MS Racing banner.

125cc:

Nico Terol remains the man to beat in the 125cc category, having opened up a 25-point lead at the top of the Championship standings after just three rounds. The Bankia Aspar rider has won the first three races of the campaign – the first rider to do so since Masao Azuma in 1999 – and at Le Mans will line up for his 100th GP start, all of which have come in the 125cc class.

With the Spaniard in such strong form a chasing pack has formed in his wake, with German duo Sandro Cortese (Intact Racing Team Germany) and Jonas Folger (Red Bull Ajo Motorsport) and Frenchman Johann Zarco (Avant-AirAsia-Ajo) a trio of riders battling one another.

Cortese leads the threesome whilst Folger and Zarco are level on points, and the French rider will be eager for a strong home result after stepping onto the podium for the past two consecutive races. His competitors are also in rostrum-finishing shape after the opening three races of 2011.

Spaniards Efrén Vázquez (Avant-AirAsia-Ajo) and Sergio Gadea (Blusens by Paris Hilton Racing Team) know that they will need to produce strong results in France to maintain contact with those ahead of them, even this early in the season, whilst Gadea’s rookie team-mate Maverick Viñales will have taken great encouragement from his display in Portugal where he was denied a first podium in only his third GP by just two-thousandths of a second. Other rookies in the shape of Danny Kent (Red Bull Ajo Motorsport) and Miguel Oliveira (Team Andalucía Banca Cívica) continue to impress, whilst British rider Taylor Mackenzie (Phonica Racing) will hope to be fit to ride after a crash in QP at Estoril ruled him out of the race with a shoulder injury.

Three wildcard riders will supplement the field at Le Mans with French youngsters Kevin Szalai (Maxiscoot MVT Racing) and Kevin Thobois (Team RMS) and Swiss rider Patrick Meile (Albatros Racing) riding.

vierjonsen: MotoGP: No Replacement Race if Japanese GP Falls Through

Ever since the Great East Japan Earthquake, there’s been a great deal of speculation in the MotoGP paddock about the status of the Japanese GP. Although postponed until October, the reality that the Motegi circuit will be able to safely host a MotoGP event is still dubious in many minds, and accordingly names of alternate venues have been banded about as replacements for the Japanese round. At the top of the list has been Istanbul, which ...

Bautista aiming for incredible Estoril return

Rizla Suzuki’s Alvaro Bautista is targeting an amazing return to the MotoGP arena at this weekend’s bwin Grande Prémio de Portugal, just 42 days after breaking his left femur.

Bautista has been undergoing intensive physiotherapy to make sure he is at a sufficient level of fitness to be able to take to the track on Friday, following a full medical to determine his ability to compete. If he is unable to ride at a competitive level, Rizla Suzuki will have Factory test rider Nobuatsu Aoki on stand-by to take over if he has to withdraw from the event â€Â" but Bautista’s clear target is to compete in the Grand Prix.

Rizla Suzuki's GSV-R will feature a new logo in Estoril â€Â" ‘Change and Challenge’ - which is used by Suzuki in the Asian regions to promote its new range of motorcycle products in these markets. Rizla Suzuki hopes to engage with the enthusiasm and passion of all MotoGP fans in these areas and it appreciates all the support of Bautista as he undertakes what is certainly a huge ‘challenge’ in his comeback from serious injury.

Bautista plans to take to the track on Friday morning for the first of two free-practice sessions. Saturday will see a final practice in the morning, followed by an hour-long qualifying session in the afternoon where he aims to be qualifying for the best grid position he can obtain.

Álvaro Bautista:

“I have been working very hard to be back in time for Estoril and I believe I will be able to take part in the race. I know it will be difficult, but I think the sooner I can get on the bike the more it will aid my total recovery and help my way to full fitness. I have travelled over 4.5km with many journeys to the hyperbaric chamber in Madrid to assist with my healing - I have been there so many times I could close my eyes and go without problems! I have now finished the rehabilitation phase and started on the physical preparation; this involves a lot of swimming, cycling and other fitness programmes to build up the strength so I can ride again.”

“It is going to be really tough, but I am totally focused on being on the GSV-R in Portugal, it’s all I can think about at the moment and that is my first goal. After that we’ll see what happens and take everything one step at a time.”
