MOTOGP RIDERS SUPPORTS SIC FUND RAISING FOR FLOOD VICTIMS

MotoGP riders and team members, currently at Sepang Circuit for the MotoGP official test, have come in full support to a charity campaign organized by the circuit to raise fund for the recent flood victims in Malaysia.

“On behalf of Sepang International Circuit, I would like to express my sincere thanks and appreciation to all the MotoGP riders and team members for supporting our ‘RM2 or More’ Campaign for Malaysia Flood Relief Fund.

“Having all of them together for a group photograph with each and every member of the competing teams at the starting grid today to support the programme was indeed a proud moment for us all at SIC. It will definitely inspires us to do even more to help the less fortunate through our events,” says SIC Chief Executive Officer Dato Ahmad Razlan Ahmad Razali.

Razlan added that SIC would be looking into a larger scale CSR programme at the 2011 Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix 2011 when the MotoGP community returns to Sepang in October.

In conjunction with the second MotoGP tests which started yesterday, everybody that came through SIC gates including staff, suppliers, contractors and visitors are encouraged to donate a minimum of RM2, which will be channeled to the flood relief fund.

The three-day test session end tomorrow and at the first day yesterday, it was the dynamic duo of Repsol Honda â€" Casey Stoner and Dani Pedrosa topping the timesheet.

“The response has been very good and I’m definitely touched by everybody’s generosity. I thank you from the bottom of my heart,” added Razlan.
